MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - The Alabama Department of Transportation says the hazardous materials team responded to a spill along Interstate 65 in the Montgomery Tuesday, prompting a road closure.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says a tanker truck overturned shortly after 4 p.m. The tanker was carrying hazardous material possibly identified as maleic acid.
“It is unknown if there is leakage at this time,” ALEA State Trooper Michael Carswell said. The wreck does involve injuries, though the severity is unclear.
The spill was in the northbound lanes at exit 173, which is the Northern Boulevard. .
