MACON COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) - The Macon County Commission chairman is in the hospital.

According to Macon County Emergency Management Agency Director Frank Lee, Chairman Louis Maxwell has been hospitalized following a positive test result for COVID-19.

There are no details regarding his treatment.

During Chairman Maxwell’s hospitalization, Commissioner Miles Robinson has assumed the role of acting chairman.
