MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - In Montgomery Saturday, a crowd gathered to get their hands on a free Thanksgiving turkey.
NBA player and Montgomery native JaMychal Green returned to his hometown to give back.
The event was held at Booker T. Washington Magnet High School. Volunteers from several organizations came together to handout a total of 500 turkeys.
“You know what I’m saying with everything going on with COVID, you know, the virus, it’s just tough times right now. 2020 has been a rough year for everybody, so I just wanted to give back to the community. You know, I feel like I was blessed to be put in this situation to give back. Just wanted to help,” said Green.
Green helped hand out the turkeys one day after signing with the Denver Nuggets.
