Old Russell plant in Wetumpka sold to Wisconsin-based company

WETUMPKA, Ala. (WSFA) - A Milwaukee-based real estate firm confirms they’ve purchased the old Russell Brands facility in Wetumpka.
Phoenix Investors said Friday that they acquired the 891,000 foot facility. The facility sits on 102 acres of land on Highway 14.
The location used to be home to a major employer for the city before closing in 2013.
Phoenix Investors officials said they plan to make improvements to the site for whichever business may move in.
