Judson College to stay open for spring semester
MARION, Ala. (WSFA) - Students at Judson College will be returning to class after all.
The private women’s college was facing possible closure but was able to surpass its donation goal of $500,000. The college says the combined giving and commitment total to date is more than $1,380,500.
On Thursday, the board of trustees approved a residential spring semester for all returning students, according to a news release.
Due to the potential surge of coronavirus cases after the New Year,
The spring semester start date was moved to Jan. 20 due to a potential surge of COVID-19 cases following the new year.
College officials say they are planning a fall session.
Trustees will continue to review the college’s financial position in the coming months.
Judson College is the only all women’s college in the state.
