MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - A man is being sought in Montgomery for a December homicide.

According to Central Alabama CrimeStoppers, Michael Lewis, 38 is wanted on a murder charge for the death of William Elmore III.

Montgomery police say on Dec. 19 around 1:10 p.m, officers were called Baptist Medical Center South on a report that a patient was suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound to the chest. On Tuesday, Dec. 29, the patient, identified as Elmore, died from his injuries.

Detectives say the shooting happened in the 4100 block of Troy Highway and evidence has led to a warrant for Lewis’ arrest.
