MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Two more Montgomery Public Schools have been placed under quarantine after a rise in COVID-19 cases.

According to MPS, Garret Elementary and Fitzpatrick Elementary are now under a mandatory quarantine period due to the rise of confirmed and close contact COVID-19 cases. The quarantine started Monday and will continue for the next 2 weeks.

Previously, MPS placed Carver High School under a mandatory quarantine after a rise in COVID cases there. Two schools near downtown were moved to virtual instruction as a precaution to possible protests ahead of Inauguration Day.

MPS says all students and teachers at those schools will be doing virtual instruction.
