Homicide investigation opened after Tuesday Montgomery shooting victim dies

Montgomery police say they have opened a homicide investigation after the victim of a Tuesday morning shooting died.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Montgomery police say they have opened a homicide investigation after the victim of a Tuesday morning shooting died.

According to a police spokeswoman, officers and fire medics responded to the 2400 block of Meadow Ridge Lane just after 6 a.m. Officers found a man with life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound.

Police on Wednesday identified the victim as Nathan Hogan II, 26, of Montgomery. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and later died from his injuries.

No additional details have been made available at this time. Police say the circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation.
