Search for rape suspect ends in Alabama

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -  The search for a suspected rapist ended after a  police chase through North Alabama.

37-year-old James H. Crockett, Jr. is in a Huntsville hospital after he crashed trying to elude police.

U.S. Marshals say investigators in two other states have been looking for Crockett since early this month. He's charged with rape and attempted rape in Mississippi and Louisiana.

U.S. Marshals say all of his victims were college students who lived off campus. They say he used a stun gun and handcuffs to rape them.

Crockett, has a lengthy criminal history which includes convictions for grand larceny and burglary. His condition hasn't been released.
