WILCOX COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - The Chairman of the Wilcox County Board of Education has been indicted by a grand jury on the charge of vote buying.
According to District Attorney Michael Jackson, Clifford "Don" Twilley, the Chairman of the Wilcox County Board of Education was indicted by a Wilcox County Grand Jury for vote buying.
Twilley has served on the Wilcox County Board of Education since 1998. His term is due to expire in 2016. He is a graduate of the Wilcox County Public School system.
The charge stems from an investigation into Twilley's conduct in the June 2010 elections in Wilcox County,
Twilley was released from the Wilcox County Jail on $5,000 bond.He will be arraigned in Circuit Court in the next few months.
This arrest was the result of an extensive investigation by the District Attorney's Office into voter fraud in Wilcox County.
