ASU Football gets back to spring practice

MONTGOMERY—After having a week off for spring break, the Alabama State University football team returned to the practice field today for session five of their spring football practice.

The coaching staff greeted the team back to practice with a running session to start the day.  The session included the team running 17 sprints that registered 110 yards.

"I was impressed to see the guys run that many sprints after a week off," head coach Reggie Barlow said.  "We wanted to see what they did over spring break, and it looks like they did some running.  To a man, they did a good job of making it through the sprints and it is one of the reasons I am so excited about this group."

The Hornets finished the rest of the practice working on special teams drills and did a walk through to preview the things they would be practicing on in tomorrow's session.

Tomorrow's practice will begin at 11 a.m. at Hornet Stadium as the Hornets continue to work towards their first scrimmage which will take place Saturday, April 2 at 9 a.m.  The scrimmage will also be held at Hornets Stadium.
