Chief on infant death: "Life is about choices"

GREENVILLE, AL (WSFA) - The Greenville community is still puzzled about the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a baby girl's body yesterday at a residence.

The body of the newborn girl was found in a plastic bag stuffed in a closet.

The mother of the child, 20-year-old Tisha Nicole Pressley, is recovering from childbirth complications at a Greenville Hospital according to Police Chief Lonzo Ingram. Charges have yet to be filed in this case.

"Life is about choices, and some bad choices were made here," said Ingram. "Once we get the autopsy results we will consult with the District Attorney and determine what, if any, charges should be filed."

Investigators were able to determine the child was born last Thursday, though there is no information at this time on how the child died, or even how long the baby lived.

There is no word yet on when the autopsy results will be available.
