US Airways and RSA Reach Promotion Deal

Alabama and US Airways are going to be promoting each other. The cross-promotion is the result of the Retirement Systems of Alabama becoming the largest stockholder in the airline. Alabama's tourist attractions are now featured on the airline's Web site. The state will be featured in the airline's in-flight magazine.

Governor Bob Riley signed a proclamation on Tuesday making US Airways the official airline of Alabama tourism. The airline will be mentioned on all state tourism ads, and it will be promoted on TV stations and in newspapers owned by the Retirement Systems of Alabama.

The Chief Executive of the Retirement Systems, David Bronner, says it should help Alabama get more tourists and it should help US Airways get more business in the state. US Airways serves Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery and Mobile from its Charlotte hub.
