MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Police Department is charged a suspect in connection to the city's 22nd homicide of 2013. Gerald Perry, a Dothan resident, is now facing one count of murder for the death of Michael Timmons.
Perry was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on May 30 and is currently being held out of state, awaiting extradition.
Once in Montgomery, Perry will be held under a $75,000 bond at the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
At approximately 3 p.m. on May 1, Michael Timmons was gunned down in front of a residence at the 900 block of Alexander Street in Montgomery.
Timmons was transported to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
Police say the homicide was drug related.
