MPD makes arrest in Elmore County teen's death

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery Police say a man is under arrest and charged with murder following the shooting death of Elmore County teen Ezra Thomas.

According to the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force 20-year-old Denelson Brown of Montgomery  was arrested on Monday following an investigation.

On Tuesday April 1, around 10:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of Delray Road, police responded to the report of a subject shot. When they arrived they found 19-year-old Ezra Thomas. Thomas was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Ezra's death was ruled a homicide after further investigation revealed the shooting occurred after an argument between Brown and Thomas.

Brown has since been transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility with a $75,000 bond.
