Man charged with making terrorist threat against Faulkner University

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A man was arrested Wednesday and charged with making a terrorist threat against a university in Montgomery.

The Montgomery Police Department says Faulkner University's police department contacted it in regards to a man allegedly emailing threats against the school.

MPD opened an investigation into the actions of 26-year-old Brandon Watson and subsequently charged him with making a terrorist threat.

An affidavit against Watson indicates he was sending emails threatening bodily harm against a specific individual, as well as a general threat against staff and students of the university.

Watson was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility where he is being held on a $100,000 bond.

WSFA 12 News has reached out to Faulkner University for comment but campus officials have not responded at this point.
