MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Whole Foods Market confirmed Wednesday it will be opening a store in Montgomery.

Aronov Realty Management and Whole Foods announced plans for a 40,000-square-foot store at the new Chase Corner development across from the Shoppes of Eastchase at the intersection of Taylor Road and Interstate 85 in east Montgomery.

The site is already being prepared and the store is expected to open in early 2016. It's expected to bring 175 jobs to Montgomery.

Whole Foods Market has an existing store in Birmingham and plans to open a store in Huntsville next year.

The natural and organic foods supermarket was named "America's Healthiest Grocery Store" by Health magazine. According to the company it offers a fresh selection of natural foods that are free of artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, hydrogenated fats and preservatives.

"We're excited to be opening our doors to the Montgomery community," said Whole Foods Market South region president, Omar Gaye. "We look forward to providing more options for high quality, healthy food in Alabama, connecting and working with community partners and sharing our passion for food."
