MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A vigil was held in the Centennial Hill Community Tuesday night to honor the lives of a child and mother involved in a tragedy. Dozens were on hand  to support family and friends.

Those at the vigil say, Shanice Nicole Nelson killed her child, JaDarrius Master, before killing herself, something the Montgomery Police Department confirmed its investigation shows after the bodies were found at a home on Nov. 24.

"Please, if you are having a problem or misunderstanding, please find time to speak to someone," Bobby Nelson, an uncle of the victim, said.

Funeral services are planned for Wednesday.
