Opp, AL (WSFA) - An Opp woman has been arrested in an ongoing child sex crimes investigation.
Mandi Brianna Harrison, 25, of Opp, was arrested Friday and charged with rape second degree and sodomy second degree, according to a news release from the Opp Police Department.
Police opened an investigation after receiving a report of a woman having sexual contact with a child. The victim is a child under the age of 16, according to police.
Harrison was placed in the Covington County Jail on a $400,000 bond.
Opp Police Chief Mike McDonald has encouraged parents to talk with their children and instruct them to contact law enforcement if anyone touches them or talks to them inappropriately.
Two other Opp women were arrested over the last week on sex crimes charges involving minors.
Kristina L. Burroughs, 30, of Opp, was arrested Jan. 26 and charged with rape second degree and sodomy second degree. Tiffany Ann Blair, 35, of Opp, was arrested Jan. 24 and charged with four counts of chemical endangerment of a child, rape second degree and sodomy second degree.
It's unclear at this time if the most recent arrest is connected in any way to the other two arrests. Our calls to the Opp Police Department weren't immediately returned.
