Handgun found at Dothan middle school

DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - A juvenile was arrested Monday after a handgun was found at Honeysuckle Middle School in Dothan.
Dothan police received information Monday that a student had a gun on campus, according to police chief Gregory Benton.
Officers located the weapon and took a student under the age of 15 into custody.
The juvenile was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit and transported to the Southeast Alabama Diversion Center.
The identity of the student wasn't released due to his age.
