2 teens injured in Selma shooting, Police searching for suspect

SELMA, AL (WSFA) - The Selma Police Department is currently searching for a suspect in reference to a shooting on Wednesday that left two teenagers injured.

Police officers responded to the 1800 block of L.L. Anderson Avenue at approximately 12:30 a.m. in reference to two victims who had suffered gunshot wounds.

When officers arrived at the scene, they encountered a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his leg and another to his lower back. The second victim, a 19-year-old male, suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm.

The victims told the officers that they were walking in the area when an unknown male, wearing a black hoodie and white shorts, approached them and began firing at them.

The victims were transported to a local emergency room by ambulance, and the 17-year-old victim was eventually airlifted to a hospital in Birmingham for further treatment.
