MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Fire Department, including a Hazmat unit, responded to a vehicle fire near Gibbs Village on Monday involving a Montgomery Area Transit bus.

Fire officials say the engine of the bus caught fire and diesel and hydraulic fluid spilled onto the street. Firefighters were able to contain the diesel fluid, but city maintenance workers are still working to clean up the hydraulic fluid.

The driver was the only person on the bus at the time of the fire, and was taken to Pri-Med for minor smoke inhalation precautions.
