AUTAUGA CO., AL (WSFA) - Barbara McCormick was found dead outside her home on Autauga County Road 1 on Sept. 4.

The preliminary autopsy report shows the 65-year-old was mauled to death by her three dogs.

The sheriff's office quarantined two of the dogs. Officers are still searching for the third.

Autauga County Sheriff Joe Sedinger says the dog's weren't aggressive. He has a theory about what he believes happened.

"What my theory is, I think maybe she was out there feeding those dogs and maybe they got into a fight and she got tangled up in the middle of them, or something like that. That's what it looked like to me that happened," Sedinger says.

No decision has been made as to whether to euthanize the dogs. The sheriff says that decision will be left up to the court. The sheriff's office is still awaiting the final autopsy report.
