MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A 22-year-old Montgomery man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for a November robbery.
A jury convicted Devonte Jashawn Cobb in August.
According to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, Cobb robbed a 23-year-old Montgomery man at gunpoint on Gentilly Court in November.
The victim struggled with Cobb and shot him. The victim was then able to run to a house and call for help. Cobb was arrested a short time later.
"Cobb will spend a major part of his life in prison for the crime he committed. My warning to anyone thinking about committing a robbery is that you might want to reconsider based on what happened to Cobb today," Montgomery County District Attorney Daryl Bailey said.
