MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Faulkner University Eagles improved to 3-0 on Saturday after shutting out the Georgetown Tigers 44-0.
Faulkner dominated Georgetown in every aspect of the game, out-gaining the Tigers 476 yards to 160 yards.
The Eagles had 334 yards through the air, with ten different receivers logging at least one reception.
The man of the day was Faulkner quarterback Clayton Nicholas who completed 16 passes on 22 attempts for 263 yards and four touchdowns.
Shante Rogers led the Eagles' receiving corps with 74 yards on three receptions and a touchdown. A.J. Stevenson was right behind Rogers with 73 yards and a touchdown on three receptions.
Joe Jones led the Faulkner ground game with 73 yards on 14 rushes, but Trent Miles logged the only rushing touchdown of the day. Miles had 67 yards on seven rushes.
The Eagles were two of two on fourth down conversions, while the Tigers were unable to convert on four fourth down attempts.
In the second half, Nicholas suffered a knee injury and was taken out of the game. Lane Moss came in for the Eagles, and completed eight passes on 12 attempts for 71 yards and a touchdown. It is unclear as of now what the extent of Nicholas injury is.
The Eagles will take on Campbellsville next Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
