Eclectic man killed in early morning head-on collision

ELMORE COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - An Eclectic man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Elmore County early Sunday morning.

The crash happened at about 3:35 a.m. on Highway 14 about four miles east of Wetumpka, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Carl Ray Chadwick II, 29, was killed when the 1995 Ford Explorer he was driving collided head-on with a 2010 Toyota Tundra, according to ALEA.

The driver of the Toyota, Richard Myers 37, also of Eclectic, suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

According to ALEA, the preliminary investigation indicates alcohol was a factor in the crash. No other details were released.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the crash.
