3rd suspect arrested, 2 still sought in Selma shootings

SELMA, AL (WSFA) - Selma police arrested a third suspect Tuesday in connection to a series of shootings they believe are all connected on Dec. 30 and 31.
Clarence Brenson was wanted for attempted murder in connection to a shooting that injured Eric Parnell in the 2100 block of Church Street on Dec. 30.
Officers received information that Brenson was at an address in the 7000 block of Country Road 62 in Sardis. Detectives went to the address and when Brenson saw the officers, he reportedly fled the residence and led officers on a chase through the woods.
Officers made contact with an elderly man who told officers that Clarence was hiding in the man's house on County Road 444. Officers arrested Brenson at the residence.
Two other suspects have already been arrested in these shootings. Two others are still wanted.
Two people were killed and two others were injured in the shootings on Dec. 30 and 31.
Glentravious Olds was arrested Thursday night after his family turned him into the police department. Olds was wanted on warrants for attempted murder and reckless murder in connection with a shooting on Dec. 30 on Church Street and another shooting the next day that killed 38-year-old Antoine Stallworth.
Fredrick Tucker, 35, is also charged with attempted murder in connection to the Church Street shooting. He was arrested Wednesday.
Lt. Sam Miller said the shooting on Church Street led to three other shootings over the next day in Selma.
Later on Dec. 30 a woman was shot on Tucker Avenue. The victim, Nikki Olds, was shot in the arm. She's expected to be okay.
The next day, New Year's Eve, two other people were shot between 2 and 2:30 p.m.
Mary Whatley, 44, was shot while standing in her front yard in the 1600 block of Maple Street. Whatley was taken to Vaughan Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Stallworth was shot in the 400 block of Martin Luther King Street. He was transported to a Montgomery hospital and died Wednesday morning.
Selma police are now searching for two other suspects who they consider armed and dangerous. The following suspects are wanted:
- Alfred Parnell: Wanted for murder in connection with the shooting of Antoine Stallworth
- Antonio Whatley: Wanted for attempted murder in connection with the shooting in the 2100 Block of Church Street.
