CLANTON, AL (WSFA) - An officer-involved shooting that left one man dead in Chilton County over the weekend was justifiable, according to District Attorney Randall Houston.

The man killed in the shooting is identified as Michael Lamar Robinson, 43, of Clanton. An obituary and photo of Robinson are available on the website for Martin's Funeral Home in Clanton.

According to information released in a news conference Wednesday, officers were responding to a domestic violence call on County Road 701 Saturday when they found Robinson armed with a sword and BB gun. The gun looked like a police-issued weapon, the DA said.

Robinson was shot and killed by a Clanton Police officer as well as a Chilton County Sheriff's deputy. Both body cam and dashcam video of the incident were recorded, the DA said. Media will be allowed to review the video after it is made available to Robinson's family to review.

Robinson's family has not responded to requests for comment on the matter.
