Woman sought after fake documents used to defraud car dealership

TROY, AL (WSFA) - A Troy car dealership and CrimeStoppers are searching for a woman who allegedly used fake documents to get a vehicle.

According to CrimeStoppers, on Jan. 13 a woman went into the C & H Auto Sales in Troy and told a salesman a sob story about her life and why she really needed a new car.

She also had a fake social security number and a falsified check stub in order to qualify for the loan.

It was after the fact that the dealership determined she didn't work where she claimed and all the personal information and documentation she used were false.

Now C&H Auto Sales has placed a $1000 reward for the arrest of Chrishunda Thrasher Brown to be paid through Central Alabama CrimeStoppers.

The dealership also want to alert other businesses about this kind of con.

"We would like her to turn herself in, but it's not totally about her. It's about helping other businesses so that they won't have to go thru the same experience. Especially since its tax season. And you know you always have someone who's trying to skate uphill and we're trying to put a stop to it and help other businesses to prevent them from having to deal with a situation of this similarity," said Nathaniel Griffin of C & H Auto Sales.

Anyone who can help police catch Chrishunda Brown can call CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP.
