Suspect arrested shortly after Wetumpka bank robbery
MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A suspect was arrested Wednesday afternoon shortly after a bank robbery in Wetumpka.
According to the Wetumpka Police Department, a man walked into the PNC Bank on South Main Street around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday and handed a teller a note demanding money. No weapon was produced.
The suspect fled on foot and a police foot pursuit started.
Law enforcement caught the suspect in front of the Wetumpka Civic Center and recovered all of the money.
Charges are pending against the man. His name wasn't immediately released.
