MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Temperatures are cooler, but our skies are sunnier. Considering yesterday's rough weather, I'd say this is a solid trade off. We'll enjoy plenty of sunshine throughout the course of our Wednesday. But our next storm system and shot at rain is set to arrive tomorrow.
TODAY: Skies have cleared completely, giving way to plenty of sunshine this morning. We'll enjoy blue skies all day long as high temperatures attempt to climb into the lower 60s. We're not in January anymore, so the cool down behind cold fronts in early March isn't nearly at biting.
The combination of lower 60s and sunshine on the skin will make for a pleasant day overall.
NEXT STORM SYSTEM: Another piece of energy swings on by tomorrow. We'll start Thursday generally dry, but rain & rumbles will develop into the afternoon.
A more southerly surface low track (with the low being relatively weak) will keep instability at bay. That means a few rumbles will be possible but we should avoid severe weather with this one. Rain tapers off by Midnight and skies rapidly clear out in time for Friday.
TASTE OF SPRING? This weekend will be another stellar one as temperatures flirt with 70 Saturday and warm into the 70s Sunday with more sunshine. I'm seeing evidence to support upper 70s to perhaps around 80 degrees into early next week. Long range guidance suggest a rather slow moving zone of rain & storms developing to our west early/middle next week. We'll have to keep an eye on that. But up until that point it's Spring all the way.
