Man dies after shot to the head in Greenville; woman charged with murder

GREENVILLE, AL (WSFA) - A 31-year-old man who was airlifted to a Birmingham hospital late Wednesday night after being shot in the head has died, confirms Capt. Justin Lovvorn of the Greenville Police Department.
Capt. Lovvorn says officers responded to a shooting call on Linda Avenue around 8:45 p.m. On scene, they found 31-year-old Charles Edward Curry suffering a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital before being flown by medical helicopter to Birmingham. Curry died Thursday morning.
After interviewing neighbors and processing the crime scene, investigators quickly developed 27-year-old Shantel Jalisa Boone as a person of interest.
Boone, who was in a relationship with the victim, was taken to the police station where she was interviewed and then arrested on a charge of attempted murder. Following Curry's death, her charge was upgraded to murder.
Boone is now being held without bond at the Butler County Jail.
Lovvorn says the investigation shows Curry and Boone were having a domestic dispute when Curry was killed.
