MACON CO., AL (WSFA) - The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says a motorcyclist was taken into custody near Tallassee following a high-speed chase that began on Interstate-85 near Auburn on Saturday.
According to Troopers, the Tallassee Police Department captured Ronald Davis, of Montgomery, AL, on Saturday following the high-speed pursuit.
We were originally told, and reported, that Patrick Moss, of Semmes, AL, was arrested as the motorcyclist, but it was actually Davis that was arrested. The mix-up was caused due to the motorcycle being registered to Moss.
State Troopers reportedly attempted to conduct a traffic stop for traffic violations, including speeding, on Davis in the area of exit 50 in Auburn. Troopers say Davis refused to stop, and that is when the chase began.
According to Troopers, the chase continued down I-85 southbound to exit 26, Tallassee exit, where Davis abandoned the motorcycle and took off on foot.
Davis is charged with attempting to elude, reckless endangerment and second degree possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Lee County Jail.
