MPD searching for man wanted on attempted murder, domestic violence warrants

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Police Department and the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force are searching for a man wanted on charges including attempted murder, domestic violence and theft.

According to MPD, warrants have been issued for Raymond Jerome Pruitt in reference to a shooting and stabbing that occurred on April 5.

Police say on that date, Pruitt stabbed and shot a victim and also stole the victim's vehicle after he attacked her.

The victim was transported to Baptist South Medical Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The victim's vehicle was later recovered in the 5000 block of Carmichael Road.

Pruitt is facing charges of attempted murder, first degree domestic violence and first degree theft of property. He is considered armed and dangerous, and police would like to know his whereabouts as soon as possible.

Pruitt was featured in a segment on CrimeStoppers in May 2015 for second degree domestic violence assault. According to police, Pruitt stabbed the victim multiple times during a verbal altercation.
