MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The sun continues to shine on what should be another pleasant day across Alabama. We still have some time before our next shot of rain start to work in, but that window is getting closer...
TODAY: We're already up to 70 degrees in Montgomery as of 10:30am. Not bad. At least partial sunshine will continue for the rest of the day as highs climb into the lower 80s.
It's pretty much a carbon copy of yesterday's weather with a few extra degrees thrown in for good measure.
We'll keep a similar forecast tomorrow with lower 80s and partial sunshine.
WHEN DOES THE RAIN GET HERE? The slow moving system to our west will continue to only crawl eastward at a snail's pace. In fact, models this morning have slowed things down even further. What I'm seeing now hints at much of Thursday remaining dry before the threat for scattered rain and storms starts to pick up west late in the day into Thursday night. This slower timing would favor increasing rain chances Friday with more of a threat for thunderstorms developing.
Overall rainfall totals will NOT be significant and flooding is not anticipated. In fact, most spots will get well under an inch from Thursday into Friday.
We still think this system will be gone by the weekend, allowing for another solid Saturday-Sunday combo.
