MORE NICE WEATHER: Our stretch of dry, pleasant weather continues across Alabama; temperatures drop into the mid to upper 50s tonight underneath a partly cloudy sky. A few more clouds will filter the sunshine tomorrow, but you'll still see bright stretches of sunshine at times, too.
CHANGES ARRIVE THURSDAY: First things first, please understand that much of Thursday will feature dry weather. The morning will likely be dry areawide; then, as the afternoon progresses, scattered areas of rain and rumbles will develop. The majority of the rain arrives Thursday night into Friday. While some thunder is a good bet, we don't anticipate severe weather issues with this system. And, unlike our neighbors in Texas, we don't think this system will produce significant flooding problems, either.
WHAT A WEEKEND! The showers clear out Friday evening, setting us up for a phenomenal April weekend. Highs soar into the lower 80s both Saturday and Sunday, with plenty of sun and a light breeze.
In the long range, there are signs that we may return to a stormier, more active pattern late next week. It's already been an active tornado season, and it's important to remember that tornado season lasts until mid-May in Alabama.
