Drug charges against Alabama chief justice's son dropped

PIKE CO., AL (WSFA) - The drug charges against Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore's son have been dropped.

Court records show Caleb Moore has enrolled in a pretrial diversion program through the Pike County District Attorney's Office.

A Pike County grand jury indicted Caleb Moore on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana in November. He was arrested in Troy in March 2015.

In 2012, Caleb Moore pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance in St. Clair County.

In 2011, at the age of 20, he was charged with driving under the influence and drug possession and applied to be classified as a youthful offender.
