MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Raymond Pruitt has been booked in the Montgomery County Detention Facility after being released from the hospital in Troy.
Pruitt, who was wanted for murder, attempted murder, and several armed robberies, was captured in Pike County Friday.
Authorities across the southeast were searching for Pruitt after a multi-state crime spree.
He led police on a high-speed chase through Troy Friday.
After receiving an anonymous tip, police spotted Pruitt at the Sunoco station on Highway 87. He left there and drove across the street to a mobile home park.
Officers tried to pull him over but say he started shooting at them.
After a high-speed chase and a collision with the Troy police chief, officers caught Pruitt after he crashed into tree.
He was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Investigators recovered a weapon when they arrested Pruitt.
They believe it is the gun used in the armed robberies in Montgomery, Troy, Ozark, Prattville and a homicide in Pensacola.
