MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Temperatures are already on the rise this morning, and there's very little to slow things down as we head into the afternoon. Toasty temperatures will greet all of us today as rain chances remain minimal...
TODAY: Upper 80s to around 90 degrees should be commonplace under mainly clear to partly cloudy skies today. Plenty of heat and humidity to play with, but there isn't anything to really generate the lift needed for storms to tap into that instability. We can't rule out a stray thunderstorm this afternoon, but radar should be pretty quiet today.
Not everyone gets to 90, but it's going to be one of the hotter days we've had this year no matter how you slice it.
Hi resolution models try to hint at a storm or two firing mainly west of I-65, but many will end up staying dry.
REST OF THE WEEK: An approaching frontal boundary will kick off isolated storms later Thursday through early Friday. This is a fairly weak front, so rain chances are still on the low end.
Sunshine will be the rule of the weekend with slightly more manageable warmth (highs in the middle 80s). Nothing crazy on the 7-day, it's just starting to have more of a summer-like look with isolated storms and generally warm & muggy air.
