MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - In his 12th season at Huntingdon, head baseball coach D.J. Conville met a major milestone.
The sweep of Guilford in the last series of the regular season marked 321 wins for the head coach, making him the winningest coach in program history.
It was a bittersweet moment for Conville to reach the milestone after spending his entire coaching career with the Hawks and graduating from the school.
He also led the team to their first ever USA South Athletic Conference Tournament win over Maryville a few weeks ago.
Starting next Wednesday, the team will be playing in the Division III playoffs for the first time since 2013. It's another great accomplishment for the program, and 13 seniors moving on after this year.
Playing the eighth toughest schedule has prepared them greatly for the postseason. Field play will be announced on Monday morning.
