Katie Ledecky breaks world record, wins gold in 400M freestyle at Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL (WSFA) - Washington D.C. native Katie Ledecky broke a world record and picked up another gold medal for Team USA on Sunday by winning the 400-meter freestyle swimming event at the Rio Games.

Ledecky blew away the field, finishing with a time of 3:56.46.

This is Ledecky's second medal of the 2016 Games, as she won a silver medal in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay on Saturday.

Ledecky will also compete in the 200-meter freestyle on Monday and the 800-meter freestyle on Thursday.
