1 arrested, 1 still at large following armed robbery of Opelika Huddle House

OPELIKA, AL (WSFA) - One person has been arrested, and one person is still being sought following an armed robbery that occurred at an Opelika Huddle House on Saturday, according to the Opelika Police Department.

Police say that 1:30 a.m., officers were called to the restaurant at 2020 Gateway Drive in reference to a call of a robbery.

It was reported to police that two suspects entered the establishment and robbed the business, as well as two customers, of an undisclosed amount of money and property. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun.

Police say the suspects fled the scene in a white car, which police soon spotted and stopped.

According to police, one of the occupants of the vehicle, 19-year-old Qwantavious Darrell Lee, was detained and was later identified as one of the robbery suspects. He was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail on charges of two counts of first-degree robbery.
