MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - It's not exactly football weather, but it's the weather we'll have to work with for football into the weekend. Plenty of hot & dry air remains in place across the region. The next "weather maker", if you want to call it that, will be in the form of a weak cold front Sunday...
TODAY: Mostly sunny skies will allow temperatures to warm into the middle 90s this afternoon. Rain chances will remain near zero.
FRIDAY NIGHT FEVER: That means dry weather for Fever games this evening.
While we can't rule out a very random shower, the odds of that are extremely low.
SATURDAY FOOTBALL: We'll go chronologically with our Saturday football forecast. Troy is in South Carolina to take on Clemson with an 11:30am kickoff. Temperatures will already be in the upper 80s to start and will rise into the lower and middle 90s by the end of the game. Sunshine is expected.
Alabama is home in Tuscaloosa with a 2:30 kickoff time. Rain chances will be at or under 10% with partly cloudy skies alongside temperatures in the lower 90s.
A cold front approaches from the north late Saturday, but the game will be long over with before any kind of shot for rain.
Auburn gets another home game with a 6:30 kickoff. Tailgaters will deal with temps in the lower and middle 90s, but the cooldown will be underway as the game gets going.
SUNDAY FRONT: The cold front will be a relatively weak one, so coverage of showers and storms mainly Sunday afternoon will remain low-end. Still, this will be the best chance at rain through the weekend. Isolated storms will remain possible each day next week, but there is nothing major we're currently seeing that will offer significant help in the rain chance department.
