2 arrested following Selma store robbery investigation

SELMA, AL (WSFA) - Two suspects have been arrested after a search warrant was executed Tuesday at a residence on LL Anderson Avenue in Selma, according to Selma police investigators.

Arrested were Jeffery Harris, 38, and Dontae Allen, 31.

Harris, the target of the search warrant, was wanted in connection to the Monday robbery at the Family Dollar store on Citizen's Parkway. Harris was detained and a search of the house was conducted. That's when officers found "various illegal narcotics and a handgun."

Investigators have since charged Harris with one count each of first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, and ex-felon in possession of a firearm.

Allen was charged with one count each of unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Harris is being held on a bond of $1.15 million, and Allen is being held on a bond of $312,000.
