MONTGOMERY CO., AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has opened a death investigation after two men were found shot to death late Sunday evening.

Sheriff's Office spokesman Capt. Trent Beasley said the bodies were found inside a trailer at the very back of a mobile home park in the 5900 block of Pine Trace. That's off Richard E. Hannan Drive near Old Selma Road.

No names have been released at this point pending notification of kin.

Beasley said the investigation is in its preliminary phases and investigators are still working to piece together the events that led to the deaths. He said at this point there are not many leads to follow up on.

The victims were not related, according to the spokesman, so it's not believed to be a domestic situation. Both were residents of the neighborhood, and one lived in the house where the shooting happened.

There are no threats to the community and no need for residents to be alarmed, authorities said.

The bodies have been taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for autopsies.
