2 men charged with capital murder in Selma shooting

SELMA, AL (WSFA) - A Selma man is dead and two suspects have been charged with capital murder after a weekend shooting, according to the Selma Police Department.
It happened late Saturday night at the intersection of Highway 80 and Old Montgomery Highway about a block from the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma.
The victim, Tavaris Williams, 23, of Selma, was shot in the chest as he was sitting inside a car. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Carlous Seals, 36, and Kenny Lewis, 19, have been arrested and charged in the case. They made their first court appearance Monday at the Dallas County Courthouse. Preliminary hearings are set for next month.
According to police, detectives determined the shooting stemmed from allegations of domestic violence. The case is still under investigation.
They are being held in the Dallas County Jail without bond.
