SELMA, AL (WSFA) - Outgoing Selma Mayor George Evans and the Selma City Council announced plans Thursday to enhance the city with a groundbreaking celebration of the Selma Butterfly Park by the Riverfront.

They want to ignite community involvement and create a safe haven for current and future generations in the heart of Selma.

The play area is not only designed for children but for families and the community who want to stay fit and healthy and enjoy the view of the Alabama River and the Edmond Pettus Bridge.
