MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Huntsville City Schools Chief Financial Officer Jason Taylor is officially taking over the position of CFO for the Montgomery Public Schools system, according to the governor's office.

Gov. Robert Bentley signed off on the contract between MPS and the Alabama Board of Education allowing Taylor to become the CFO for MPS.

Previously, the contract was placed on hold by state Rep. John Knight, D-Montgomery, who expressed concerns with discrepancies in the contracts. Knight stated his concerns were with the cost and who the money was going to.

Knight confirmed Wednesday that the concerns he had with the contract have been addressed.

Taylor sent a statement announcing his resignation to the Huntsville City School Board last Thursday. His resignation is effective April 15, the first day of his new contract with the state.
