ABBEVILLE, AL (WSFA) - A Certified Association Executive owned aircraft landed hard in Abbeville Wednesday afternoon.

According to CAE, the aircraft, a Grob G120TP used for U.S. Army Fixed-Wing Flight Training, had an engine issue, which caused the landing. One CAE instructor pilot and an Army student were taken to a local medical center for evaluation. No life-threatening injuries have been reported.

The scene of the incident is north of Abbeville on city property on the south end of the airport off Highway 95, said Abbeville Police Chief Noel Vanlandingham. Officers will be monitoring the area until the Federal Aviation Administration arrives.

The Fort Rucker Emergency Operations Center has been alerted to the situation and a full safety investigation will be conducted to determine the incident's cause.
