CONECUH CO., AL (WSFA) - Conecuh County Commissioner John William Andrews Jr. has been arrested by agents of the Alabama attorney general's office and FBI agents on multiple felony drug charges.

Attorney General Steven Marshall said Andrews was arrested Wednesday morning for six felony counts of unlawful distribution of marijuana, a controlled substance.

The AG's office and FBI conducted a joint investigation that they say showed Andrews making multiple sales of illegal controlled substances in the south Alabama county where he lives and works.

If convicted, Andrews would automatically be removed from office and would face a maximum penalty of two to 10 years in prison on each count.
